1. Introduction

Welcome to SteamTradeBots.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website. Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the site.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date of this Privacy Policy.

2. Collection of Your Information

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect on the Site includes:

Personal Data

When you register using Steam OpenID, we receive your unique 64-bit SteamID, your current Steam display name (persona name), your profile URL, and URLs to your Steam avatar images. We store your SteamID, display name, profile URL, and avatar URL in our database to facilitate your login and display your profile information on the site (e.g., if you are a bot owner). We do not request or store your email address or any other personally identifiable information directly from Steam beyond what is provided via the standard OpenID authentication.

Derivative Data

Information our servers automatically collect when you access the Site, such as your IP address (which may be hashed for analytics purposes), your browser type, your operating system, your access times, and the pages you have viewed directly before and after accessing the Site. This is standard practice for web server logging and basic analytics.

Bot Data

If you are a bot owner and submit information about your bot (either manually or via our API), we collect and store the data you provide, such as bot SteamID, rates, stock levels, status, description, etc., in order to display it in our directory.

3. Use of Your Information

Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the Site to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Allow bot owners to manage their bot listings.
  • Display bot information in the directory.
  • Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve your experience with the Site.
  • Compile anonymous statistical data and analysis for use internally.
  • Maintain the security and operation of the Site.
  • Respond to user inquiries or support requests.

4. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations:

  • **By Law or to Protect Rights:** If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation.
  • **Third-Party Service Providers:** We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, including data analysis, hosting services, and customer service. (You should specify your hosting provider, e.g., "Our website is hosted by [Hosting Provider Name].")
  • **Business Transfers:** We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
  • **Publicly Visible Information:** Your Steam display name, avatar, profile URL, and any information you provide about your listed bots (excluding your API key) will be publicly visible on the Site.

5. Tracking Technologies

Cookies

We use cookies solely to support the functionality of Google Analytics and to manage your cookie consent preferences. When you access the Site, your personal information beyond what is described below for analytics is not collected through the use of these cookies. Most browsers are set to accept cookies by default. You can remove or reject cookies, but be aware that such action could affect the availability and functionality of the Site. For more information on how to manage cookies, please refer to your browser's help documentation.

Website Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to help us understand how users interact with the Site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve this Site and our services.

Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information from other sources. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy.

The data collected by Google Analytics may include page views, session duration, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs. This data is aggregated and anonymized where possible and is used to understand user activity and improve the Site. No personal data from your Steam account is directly passed to or combined with Google Analytics data by us, other than what may be inherently part of your browsing session if you are logged into Google services.

You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies on your browser or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Click Tracking for Bot Owners

For users who list bots on our platform ("Bot Owners"), we track clicks on links that lead to their bots or related information. This tracking is done to provide Bot Owners with analytics on how many users interact with their listings. The information collected includes the bot identifier and the timestamp of the click. This data is used to generate aggregated statistics for Bot Owners and is not used to personally identify individual users clicking the links for any other purpose. We do not share raw click data that could identify individual users with third parties, other than providing aggregated click counts to the respective Bot Owners.

Web Beacons/Tracking Pixels

Currently, we do not use web beacons or tracking pixels directly on the Site, other than any that may be part of the standard operation of Google Analytics as described above.

6. Security of Your Information

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse. Any information disclosed online is vulnerable to interception and misuse by unauthorized parties. Therefore, we cannot guarantee complete security if you provide personal information.

7. Policy for Children

We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 13 (or applicable age in your jurisdiction). If you become aware of any data we have collected from children under age 13, please contact us using the contact information provided below.

8. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. No uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online.

9. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA etc.)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, California, or other regions with specific data protection laws, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your data. You can typically manage your profile information (name, avatar) by changing it on Steam. To request deletion of your account data from our site, please contact us.

10. Disclaimer of Liability

You acknowledge and agree that your use of the Site is at your sole risk. While we strive to protect your information and maintain the security of our Site, we make no warranties or representations about the accuracy or completeness of the Site’s content or the content of any sites linked to this Site and assume no liability or responsibility for any:

  • Errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies of content.
  • Personal injury or property damage, of any nature whatsoever, resulting from your access to and use of our Site.
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our secure servers and/or any and all personal information and/or financial information stored therein.
  • Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Site.
  • Any bugs, viruses, trojan horses, or the like which may be transmitted to or through the Site by any third party.
  • Any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of any content posted, emailed, transmitted, or otherwise made available via the Site.
  • Data loss, data leaks, or damages resulting from hacking, cyberattacks, or other security breaches, despite our security efforts.

To the fullest extent permissible by applicable law, SteamTradeBots.com, its owners, operators, employees, and affiliates disclaim all warranties, express or implied, in connection with the Site and your use thereof. We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses (even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from the use or the inability to use the Site or its content, or from any data breach, data leak, or other security incident, regardless of whether you have accepted cookies or not.

Because some states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or the limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, in such states or jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
